DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an Android developer responsible for the development and maintenance of native applications aimed at a range of Android devices and their integration with our back-end services. You will be working alongside other engineers and developers working on different layers of the infrastructure. Therefore, a commitment to collaborative problem solving, sophisticated design, and the creation of quality products is essential. You must be self-motivated, an excellent problem solver and a fast learner. Very strong technical skills and demonstrated experience in writing commercial grade apps for native Android is a must.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop new and maintain published native Android applications that will be linked with the company’s portal
- Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
- Perform unit tests and preliminary debugging to ensure that the programs work according to specifications. Apply the corrections proposed by the analysts and/or the software quality assurance team
- Cooperate with the chief architect, analysts, team leader and other programmers
- Perform research on new technologies, tools and solutions
- Act as second level of support for production systems users
- Transfer knowledge and know-how to other developers.
REQUIREMENTS
- University and/or Postgraduate Degree in the field of Computer Science or related field of studies
- Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different versions of Android
- Working experience of at least 3+ years on Android projects
- Have published at least one original Android app
- Solid understanding of the full mobile development life cycle
- Experience with HTTP, JSON and RESTfull and/or SOAP Web Services
- Experience with local data caching, threading and multitasking
- Experience working with source control systems such as Git
- Supporting multiple device types and screen sizes
- Experience writing unit and integration tests
- Good Knowledge of Android development guidelines
- Good technical documentation skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Excellent problem-solving and learning ability
- Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications.
